Dieter has taught and carried out research at various German universities, and is currently Professor in the Faculty of Economics at the Alpen-Adria-University at Klagenfurt, Austria, and Head of the Department of Sociology. He has a sociological background but he has also taught in departments of economics and of business administration. He holds membership in numerous national and international organisations, and he is author or editor of 13 books and more than 100 articles in different languages.
