New to the research library is a video featuring Ana Rodriguez-Santiago. In this video she discusses her recent research presented at the Annual Global Research Workshop on Freelancing and Self-Employment 2018.

Her research examines the reasons behind the rise of self-employment in the UK on the basis of the motivations of opportunity entrepreneurs and necessity entrepreneurs.

She finds that some of the key reasons for the evolution in the number of self-employed people in the UK is rooted in the rise of new forms of self-employment such as gig work and freelancing.
