Registration is now open for the the next Global Workshop on Freelancing & Self-Employment Research, being held at Brighton Business School on the 24th and 25th of November 2016.

At this two day event international academics, policymakers and practitioners will explore different perspectives on self-employment including:

  • Employment status and definitions of self-employment
  • Welfare support and the role of policy
  • Trade unions and support associations
  • Performance and economic impact of the self-employed
  • Technology and the gig economy
  • Wellbeing and job satisfaction

This workshop will be the fourth of its kind that seeks to encompass the diverse and changing context of working in the UK and across the world, with a focus on translating research into policies that support self-employment.

If attending the workshop, you are also invited to join us for a complimentary networking dinner held at one of Brighton’s top restaurants on the evening of 24th November, which will be a great opportunity to network and discuss ideas stimulated by the workshop in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Space is limited. Please register for one or both days of the workshop, as well as the networking dinner here. Should you have any questions about the workshop, please contact Kayte Jenkins,
